Reformer Pilates Frequently Asked Questions
We’re here to answer your questions about Reformer Pilates and our studio. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help!
1. What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout that uses a specialized machine called a reformer to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and core stability. The reformer consists of a sliding carriage, springs, and resistance bands, which add controlled resistance to your movements.
While Reformer Pilates shares the core principles of traditional mat Pilates, the added resistance from the pulley and spring system creates a more challenging strength and endurance workout. The benefits are endless—whether you’re recovering from an injury, improving balance and posture, or building overall strength, Reformer Pilates can transform your body and mind.
Our dynamic Reformer workouts are designed to strengthen, lengthen, and sculpt your body, delivering total-body results that leave you feeling strong, energized, and empowered.
2. Do I need prior experience to join a class?
No prior experience is required! We offer classes for all levels, including beginner-friendly sessions. If you’re new to Pilates, we recommend starting with our Foundation Flow Reformer class to learn the fundamentals.
Reformer Pilates is suitable for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or fitness level. The exercises can be modified to suit your needs, making it ideal for beginners, advanced practitioners, and even those recovering from injuries.
3. What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable, fitted activewear that allows for ease of movement. Grip socks are required for safety and hygiene—if you don’t have your own, you can purchase a pair at the studio for £12.
4. How do I book a class?
You can easily book classes through our website. We recommend booking in advance to secure your spot, as our classes are intentionally small to ensure a personalized experience.
5. What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a loss of class credit. Please cancel your spot via the booking system—we do not handle cancellations or bookings via email.
No-Shows: If you do not attend a booked class without prior notice, you will be charged the full class rate.
6. Can I take a class if I’m pregnant?
Yes! However, we recommend consulting with your doctor first. If you’re pregnant, please inform your instructor so they can provide modifications to ensure your safety and comfort.
7. How often should I do Reformer Pilates?
For the best results, we recommend practicing 2-3 times per week. However, consistency is key, so choose a frequency that fits your schedule and goals.
8. Is Reformer Pilates good for injuries or rehabilitation?
Absolutely! Reformer Pilates is often used for rehabilitation and injury prevention due to its low-impact, controlled movements. If you’re recovering from an injury, please consult with your healthcare provider before starting, and inform your instructor so they can tailor the session to your needs.
9. What if I’m running late to class?
To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, we ask that you arrive 5 minutes early. If you arrive after the class has started, you may not be allowed to join for safety reasons.
10. Do you offer private sessions?
Yes! We offer private and semi-private sessions for those who want a more personalized workout. Contact us to book a session tailored to your goals.
11. How long are the classes?
Most of our classes are 45-50 minutes, but we also offer express sessions and extended workshops. Check our schedule for details.
12. Do you offer class packages?
Yes! We have a variety of class packages to suit your needs. Visit our Pricing Page for more details.
13. Can I try a class before committing to a package?
Of course! We offer a New Client Special for first-time visitors. Check our Pricing Page for details on how to get started.
14. Do you provide lockers or storage for personal items?
We have a storage area available for personal items, but we recommend bringing only essentials, as we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
15. Do you have a Waitlist?
Yes! If a class is fully booked, you can join the waitlist. We often have movement in bookings, so this is a great way to secure a spot.
When a space opens up, you’ll receive an email with 75 minutes to claim your spot. If you no longer need the spot, please remove yourself from the waitlist so someone else can register.
